More of Emily's notes from Wednesday's chapels with Pastor Adam Davidson . . .
WEDNESDAY MORNING
"After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”
Mark 1:14-15
Repeat and believe
Isaiah 55:8-9
Repentance means to turn
To believe: To take something as true even without all of the facts
"As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”
Mark 1:16-17
What has Jesus done that makes him worth believing? Mark 6:14
Problem with following Jesus: it's free yet it costs you your very life
John followed Jesus right into prison and then to his death
Jesus died so we can be set free
